Edmond Halley (1656-1742)

English astronomer, mathematician and physicist.

Best known for calculating the orbit of the comet now known as ‘Halley’s Comet’, only visible from Earth every 75-76 years. Its appearance has been recorded since 240 BC, including an appearance in the Bayeux Tapestry in 1066. He also constructed a diving bell that allowed him to remain underwater for up to four hours and commanded a ship in the first scientific voyage by the Royal Navy.

  • Real wood, finished in an antique style to give the puzzle an aged look.

  • Inspired by the English seventeenth century astronomer Edmond Halley.
